Methods | Medline, Web of Science, Chinese Biomedical Literature (CBM), China Academic Journal Network Publishing (CNKI), China info and VIP were retrievaled on the RCTs of acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine treatment for anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, time limitation from database established to November, 2014, Rev Man 5. 2. 7 was used to analysis the data. |
Results | Nine researches and 796 eyes were selected for the study. Analysis data showed an overall OR comparing the acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine to control condition was 3. 50, 95%CI: 2. 41~5. 09; Visual field defects: MD=-8. 33, 95%CI: -11. 48~-5. 17; Visual acuity: MD=2. 07, 95%CI: 1. 02~3. 13. |
ConclusionS | Associated acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine therapy was effective for AION. Due to limitations of the quantity and quality of included studies, this conclusion has yet to be carried out in large, multicenter study to verify. |
